Our blonde buddy Amy Pelzel reports there was a mix up at the Denton Animal Shelter. It seems “the guys at the shelter logged out the wrong one so I had to change it on the petfinder. They have in the system fiona left. . . But actually it’s the dog I used to have pictured as shera so I just changed shera to fiona. Make sense?”
Despite the confusion, the final story is this pooch (pictured) is still there and Thursday is euthanasia day at DAS.
Personal note: Four years ago we adopted Nellie (pictured), a larger version of the DAS pooch as a rescue. Here’s Nellie all cleaned up. Not bad, huh? In fact, she was selected to be the “cover girl” for a national dog food and works as a therapy dog at Baylor. It just shows that with a little soap, water and love, amazing
things can result.
UPDATE: Thanks to a heck of a lot of good animal rescues groups and individuals, Fiona was rescued today. Bravo to wonderful folks, not only was Fiona saved but some lucky human(s) will no doubt adopt her and have many happy years with her.
